Ultrasonic guidance for aspiration of ova, imaging supervision and interpretation. Reported in addition to 58970 (oocyte retrieval) when ultrasound guidance is performed and interpreted by the operating physician.
Billing Notes
76948 is separately billable only when the physician performing the retrieval also performs and interprets the ultrasound guidance. If a separate sonographer or radiologist performs the imaging, the billing entity changes. Do not report 76948 with 76830 on the same day for the same service.
